RomoCoat EPOXY MIO PAINT 1765
RomoCoat Epoxy MIO Paint is a fast-drying, high-build, two-pack epoxy intermediate coat pigmented with micaceous iron oxide (MIO) for tough anti-corrosive systems.
Short technical description
- Two-component epoxy (mixing ratio 4:1 by volume) with MIO for barrier protection and abrasion resistance.
- Designed as an intermediate coat in multicoat systems where high resistance to moisture, water, mild chemicals and saline/sultry conditions is needed (marine, coastal, industrial).

Typical applications / where to use
- As an intermediate coat over epoxy primers and under epoxy/PU topcoats in: structural steel, tanks externals, pipe racks, offshore/onshore structures, marine/coastal steel, power plants and chemical plants.
- Situations needing high moisture, water, saline and mild chemical resistance plus abrasion resistance (jetties, bridges, industrial sheds, process structures).
Surface preparation & recoating
- Maximum recoating interval given (4 weeks) is for overcoating with itself; surface must be completely clean for good intercoat adhesion, especially at long recoats.
- If maximum recoating interval is exceeded, surface must be mechanically roughened (sweep blasting/abrading) before overcoating.
Health, Safety & Storage
- Avoid inhalation of solvent vapour/paint mist and skin/eye contact; ensure good ventilation in confined or stagnant areas and use appropriate PPE per local regulations.
- Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place, containers tightly closed, protected from heat and direct sunlight.
