RomoCoat HEAT & OIL RESISTING PAINT
(Transformer Oil Resistant Coating)
RomoCoat Heat & Oil Resisting Paint is a single-pack, air-drying topcoat based on a combination of specialty polymers, specially formulated to withstand continuous exposure to transformer oil up to 120°C.
The coating provides excellent resistance to hot mineral oil, good heat stability, and reliable protection for internal transformer components.

Typical Application
This coating is designed for oil-immersed electrical equipment where resistance to hot transformer oil and moderate heat is essential
Electrical & Transformer Applications
- Internal surfaces of M.S. transformer tanks
- Transformer radiators (internal side)
- Conservator tanks (internal surfaces)
- Transformer covers and structural components exposed to oil vapors
- Distribution and power transformers
- Oil-filled reactors and choke coils
Industrial Oil Exposure Areas
- Oil sumps and oil collection trays (moderate temperature)
- Oil circulation chambers
- Equipment housings exposed to hot lubricating or insulating oils
General Engineering Applications
- Mild steel components exposed to hot mineral oils, transformer oil fumes, elevated operating temperatures, electrical panels and enclosures (internal areas near oil-filled systems)
Note: Not recommended for continuous immersion in aggressive chemicals, acids, or solvents other than transformer oil.

Surface preparation
- Surface or previous coat must be clean, dry, and free from Oil, grease, dust, moisture and loose particles
- For new mild steel surfaces apply over a suitable compatible primer, if required
- For old painted surfaces remove loose or flaking paint
- Roughen the surface sufficiently by mechanical abrasion
- Ensure complete dryness before application.
Health & Safety
Avoid inhalation of solvent vapors or paint mist. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Provide forced ventilation when working in confined or poorly ventilated areas. Use appropriate PPE: gloves, safety goggles, respirator. Follow applicable local and national safety regulations.
Storage
- Store in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated place
- Keep container tightly closed when not in use
- Protect from direct sunlight and heat sources
